1. Who you're contracting with

Decode ("the service") is operated by Olugbenga Samuel Ogunjobi ("we", "us", "our"), based in the United Kingdom. By using the service you enter into a binding agreement with Olugbenga Samuel Ogunjobi.

2. Acceptance

By creating an account or continuing to use Decode you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the service.

3. The service

Decode is a daily word puzzle. The daily puzzle is free for everyone. Optional supporter plans ("Decode Patron") unlock additional features such as the full puzzle archive, alternate themes, and a stats export.

4. Your account

You must provide accurate information and keep your credentials confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account.

5. Acceptable use

You must not misuse the service, including (a) unlawful use, fraud, or spam, (b) infringing intellectual property, (c) interfering with security or attempting to probe, scan, or scrape the service, or (d) introducing malware.

6. Intellectual property

We retain all rights in the service, including the software, puzzle content, branding, and documentation. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service for personal, non-commercial use.

7. Service availability

We aim to keep Decode available and reliable but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

8. Payments, subscriptions and refunds

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Payment, billing, taxes, subscription cancellation and refund mechanics are governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms and our Refund Policy. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel any time from your profile; access continues until the end of the current billing period.

9. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access for material breach of these Terms, non-payment, security or fraud risk, or repeated/serious policy violations. You may stop using the service at any time.

10. Warranties and liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, and our aggregate liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim. We exclude liability for indirect, consequential, or special damages. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for fraud, death, or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Olugbenga Samuel Ogunjobi against claims arising from your unlawful use of the service or breach of these Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

13. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be highlighted in the app.
